The history of Shih-Tzus deserves much attention. The name Shih Tzu means "Lion." Up to recent times, Shih Tzu lovers used to consider Tibet to be the sole place this breed originated from. Nevertheless, some carbon dated remains make it evident that the Shih Tzu was bred in China exclusively from Tibetan holy dogs' breeding lines. Numerous carvings and drawings suggest that the dog was loved and admired in many countries.
